Erimus Chambers - Kim Tuson

Kim Tuson LLB (Hons) LLM
Call to the Bar Inner Temple 2021
Civil, Public Law, Crime, Motoring

Kim joins Erimus Chambers having successfully completed pupillage at the Crown Prosecution Service Cymru and with more than 3 years advocacy experience.

Civil
Kim has over two years of insurance litigation experience across a range of sectors, including vehicle hire, casualty injury claims, and occupiers’ liability, having previously worked as an in-house Advocate at 8 DAC Beachcroft Buildings. In this role, Kim regularly appeared before County Courts across England and Wales, acting for both Claimants and Defendants in a wide variety of hearings — including applications, Stage 3 hearings, allocation hearings, dispute resolution, and small claims trials. Kim’s advocacy experience covered matters such as road traffic liability disputes, occupiers’ liability claims, and breach of contract cases.

Public Law
Immediately prior to completing pupillage, Kim worked at the Cabinet Office for the UK Covid-19 Public Inquiry as Lead Paralegal, managing a team of paralegals responsible for overseeing disclosure from material providers and the redaction of sensitive government material. In this role, Kim provided procedural and operational support to the Solicitor and Counsel teams to the Inquiry, assisting in the preparation and execution of the substantive public hearings.
Earlier in their career, while working at DAC Beachcroft LLP, Kim was selected for secondment to the Post Office Horizon IT Public Inquiry as a paralegal within the in-house Inquiry legal team. There, Kim supported Senior Legal Counsel with the disclosure of sensitive material, managed confidentiality undertakings, and contributed to corporate governance workstreams.

Crime
As a Crown Prosecutor, Kim prosecuted full lists in the Magistrates court for all offence types which included bail applications, sentencing hearings, mentions, remand courts, domestic abuse matters, case management and progression hearings and allocation. Kim provides excellent client care and is a thoughtful and empathetic advocate.
